Gehlen Catholic Mission Honduras Announcement from Mrs. Bickford
Dear St. Joseph’s & Gehlen Catholic Family & Friends,
It has been my privilege & pleasure to teach, serve as the Gehlen Catholic Mission Honduras (GCMH) Director, as well as the Co-Director for Gehlen Catholic Then Feed Just One (GC TFJO).
You truly never fail to amaze me! You are the most efficient packers for all our TFJO events. Your incredible service is evident through the construction of homes, contributions of gifts, & love for our friends through our GCMH ministry.
Just as you transform the lives of the children & adults in Honduras, I too see the lifelong impact GCMH & TFJO have had on you!
As the 2018-2019 school year comes to an end & planning for the 2019-2020 continues to be implemented, I want to share with you another opportunity for GCMH.
After the 2021 mission trip, I will be stepping down as the team leader of the mission trips.
I will lead the 2020 & 2021 spring GC mission trips. Afterwards, unless we can find another person who will lead the teams into Honduras, the 2021 GC mission trip will be the final mission trip for Gehlen Catholic School.
My hope is someone will be willing to take over leading the teams on their mission trips.
This leader must:
- Have a connection to Gehlen Catholic School,
- Follow the established protocols,
- Have participated in at least one mission trip, and
- Take full responsibility for the team while in Honduras.
In the coming months, we hope someone is willing to take on this role for the future of the mission program.
GCMH is a very important part of Gehlen Catholic School!
Please pray GCMH will continue to move forward in the coming years. It is important to the school’s mission & vision for our students to share their faith through a life of service. GCMH provides every Gehlen Catholic student the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the poor families we meet during our mission trips.
